Simple Plan - Simple Plan

"Simple Plan" is the self-titled third studio album by Simple Plan. It has a combination of lots of different styles and it is their best album yet.

1. "When I'm Gone" - The first single which is a great pop/rock anthem. I love this tune and it was a great choice for the first single!

2. "Take My Hand" - Continuing with the up-beat tracks, this tune is about a guy and a girl wanting to be together. This is a fantastic song and it's definitely one of their best.

3. "The End" - This song is about someone not wanting the relationship to end. It's a racy tune which has a catchy chorus that I love!

4. "Your Love Is A Lie" - This tune is the second single and it's about a girl who is cheating on a guy and she constantly lies to him. I love this track. It's so catchy!

5. "Save You" - This track is the third single and it's about Pierre Bouvier's brother's battle with cancer. It's a mid-tempo song and the lyrics are really emotional and meaningful.

6. "Generation" - This is my favourite track on the album. It has rock influences and it is really catchy! I love the lyrics and the general feel of the song. This should definitely be a single!

7. "Time to Say Goodbye" - This song is about a break-up. It's an up-beat tune which has catchy hooks and brilliant beats.

8. "I Can Wait Forever" - I love this track! It's a mid-tempo track which has brilliant use of lyrics ("When you call my heart stops beating, when you're gone it wont stop bleeding") and a fantastic vibe to the song. You can't help but love it!

9. "Holding On" - Another mid-tempo track, "Holding On" is pretty average. It's a passable track which has rock influences, but there are better tunes.

10. "No Love" - This tune is great. It's brilliant, offering us a mixture of pop and rock, as well as great hooks.

11. "What If" - The last track is a rock influenced track which goes through 'what if's' and it's really catchy. It's worth a listen!

12. "Running out of Time (Limited Edition bonus track)" - This is another favourite of mine. It's a pure fun tune which is entertaining and a nice addition to the album.

13. "When I'm Gone (Acoustic version)" - This version of the track shows off their vocals more than the album version. I like the album version better, but this one is great too!

Best track: "Generation"

Overall Rating:
10/10
"Simple Plan" is a fantastic album. I love almost every track. I really hope that "Generation" or "I Can Wait Forever" become a single. This is different to their last album "Still Not Getting Any...", it is more experimental and it has way more different styles included. I really recommend this album!

Beyoncé - "B'Day"

"B'Day" is the second solo album by Beyoncé Knowles who was a former member of the group Destiny's Child.

1. "Deja Vu" - The first single from the album which features her husband Jay-Z and it is a brilliant R&B song. I loved this track when it came out. It's a brilliant tune has slick beats and catchy hooks. A good choice for the first single!

2. "Get Me Bodied" - An R&B tune that has elements of dance. This song was also released as a single in the US, but it didn't do that well. This track is worth a listen. It will definitely have you dancing with it's catchyness!

3. "Suga Mama" - This song has elements of funk and soul, but also being an R&B track. It's about her being someones "Suga Mama" and it's quite catchy because of all of the different styles.

4. "Upgrade U" - This track, again, features her husband Jay-Z and it works. It's about Beyoncé wanting to introduce her partner to new things to improve him. This tune is a definite highlight!

5. "Ring the Alarm" - The second single from the album, this tune is more angrier and aggressive than her previous singles. I love it. The lyrics and the general feel of the song is great, but I don't really think that it was single material!

6. "Kitty Kat" - This is more of a laid back, mid-tempo R&B tune. It fits in well with the album and it's great!

7. "Freakum Dress" - "Freakum Dress" is my favourite track on the album. It has great lyrics delivered with attitude as well as catchy, slick beats. This should've been a single!

8. "Green Light" - Another track with a variety of different styles, "Green Light" has elements of funk, go-go and R&B. This was released as the fifth single in the UK and it is another great tune!

9. "Irreplaceable" - The third single from the album which has been a big hit for Beyoncé. It has a really catchy chorus and entertaining lyrics. It also has a great feel to the song and it will definitely have you singing along! Beyoncés wonderful vocals also add more brilliance to the tune!

10. "Resentment" - This is a slow song that was originally recorded by Victoria Beckham in 2003 for her second solo album which was never released, however her version was released on "The Real Beckhams DVD". Personally I do not like this tune and I skip the track mostly, because I just find it kind of boring. Beyoncés vocals shine on this track though!

11. "Check on It (bonus track)" - This track was released as a single in 2005 to promote the movie "The Pink Panther", which Beyoncé starred in. It's an up-beat tune which has brilliantly catchy hooks and racy lyrics. I love it!

Best track: "Freakum Dress"

Overall Rating:
8/10
"B'Day" is a good album by Beyoncé. It has lots of different styles included and most tracks are lively and up-beat, which is a good thing. However I think that it could've been longer than ten tracks. Anyway, this album has many fantastic moments. I can't wait for her third album due out in November! So give it a listen!

Rachel Stevens - "Come and Get It"

"Come and Get It" is the second album by pop singer Rachel Stevens, who was a former member of S Club 7. It was released in 2005 and it's a really good pop album. It's much better than her first album "Funky Dory".

1. "So Good" - The second single from the album. This is a wonderful electro pop start and it's perfect for parties!

2. "I Said Never Again (But Here We Are)" - This tune was the third single and it is another stormer of a track. It continues with the electro pop vibe and it is one of my favourite tracks on the album!

3. "Crazy Boys" - This one is an up-beat track which fails to dissappoint, with its catchy hooks and quirky lyrics, it definitely should have been a single!

4. "I Will Be There" - I love this tune! It's a ballad type track, but it's really catchy. I love the feel of this track. I love the sense of emotion that you feel when you're listening to it. Definitely one of her best!

5. "Negotiate With Love" - The first single released from the album and it is a good track, with it's catchy lyrics and background music, but I think that there is way better tracks on this album that could've been a huge first single.

6. "It's All About Me" - A laid back track which is more R&B flavoured. While this in an interesting, experimental track, I think that Rachel should stick to the sound of "So Good".
7. "Secret Garden" - This is a nice, breezy tune which fits in nicely. Not a favourite of mine, but certainly worth a listen!

8. "Nothing Good About this Goodbye" - Apparently the planned fourth single. This tune is catchy and has a great feel to it. It is definitely single material!

9. "Some Girls" - This was also featured on Rachel's first album "Funky Dory" and it was a massive hit in the UK in 2004. I like the way that this is included. With it's catchy hooks and memorable lyrics, it fits into this album perfectly!

10. "Je M'appelle" - This is easily the most experimental track on the album. I have tried to get into this track, but I just find it weak and I think that it is the only filler on the album.

. "Funny How" - In the same style of the singles, "Funny How" is a song that delivers a great, catchy chorus, as well as satisfying lyrics. I love the overall vibe of this tune.

. "Every Little Thing (bonus track)" - A laid back track which is a great addition! I love the lyrics and the catchy beats.

13. "Dumb Dumb (bonus track)" - This tune is an up-beat track, which is another catchy track. I love the lyrics and the general beat of this track!

Best track: "I Will Be There"

Overall Rating:
10/10
"Come and Get It" is a great pop album. I love all of the singles that were released from the album, but I think that "I Will Be There" should have definitely been a single. Anyway, this album is fantastic. Almost all of the tracks are awesome pop tunes. If you like Girls Aloud or just general pop music, then you should look into getting this album. Give it a listen!

Ashlee Simpson - "Bittersweet World"

"Bittersweet World" is the third studio album by American singer Ashlee Simpson. It was released in April and it has more a pop feel than her previous albums.

1. "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)" - The first single which is a great pop song! When you first hear it you find it a little strange because it is quite experimental but after listening to it, it's a really catchy track with fun lyrics. This is my favourite single by Ashlee and I love the video too!

2. "Boys" - A fun track which has a chilled theme but also being catchy at the same time. Apparently this was planned as a single from the album.

3. "Rule Breaker" - I love this track. An up-beat track that has a rebellious feel to it. It's really catchy and it would be a brilliant single!

4. "No Time For Tears" - Another pop tune which fits in perfectly. It's a lively track which has a really catchy chorus.

5. "Little Miss Obsessive" - The second single which features Tom Higgenson, the lead singer of the band The Plain White T's. It's about not being able to let go of a relationship. It has a pop/rock feel to it and it's ashame that it hasn't had that much promotion because it could probably be a hit!

6. "Ragdoll" - Keeping the up-tempo vibe of the album, "Ragdoll" is another experimental track. It has fun lyrics and a catchy chorus!

7. "Bittersweet World" - The title track is a catchy track about how our world today is bittersweet and her wondering why we can't all get on. Worth a listen!

8. "What I've Become" - Another catchy track about fame. I love this track. It's so catchy!
9. "Hot Stuff" - I love this track! It has humorous lyrics as well as a brilliant chorus. This track is a pure fun pop song!

10. "Murder" - Another one of my favourites, "Murder", which according to Ashlee is about a girl who can get away with murder because of who she is. This is another brilliant pop tune by Ashlee which is worth a listen!

11. "Never Dream Alone" - The only ballad on the album. I don't really like this track, but it has brilliant use of the piano and her vocals are good!

12. "Invisible" - This was released as a single in 2006 and originally meant to be on the re-release of her second album, "I Am Me" which was cancelled. According to Ashlee the song is about having emotional strength. This is a feel good pop tune which is really catchy!

Best track: "Rulebreaker"

Overall Rating:
9/10

"Bittersweet World" is a fantastic pop album and it is definitely Ashlee's best album yet. Almost all of the tracks are worth a listen. Ashlee's vocals are really good and the album is great for a party. The tracks are really catchy. I recommend this if you liked "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya) because the album is full of catchy pop songs similar to this. Also if you like Britney Spears or Gwen Stefani then I would give this album a try!

Gavin DeGraw - Gavin DeGraw

"Gavin Degraw" is the second album by Gavin DeGraw. I had never heard of Gavin DeGraw but I heard his new single "In Love With A Girl" and then a few days later I saw his album in a store. I decided to take my chances and to buy it. I'm glad to say that I did!

1. "In Love With A Girl" - The first single from the album. A rocky type of song which is quite different but it's catchy and worth a listen!

2. "Next to Me (Wait a Minute Sister)" - My favourite track on the album. It is an up-tempo song about someone not getting 'next to him'. A wonderful track with creative lyrics. If you liked "In Love With A Girl" you will like this.

3. "Cheated on Me" - A lively, up-beat tune which is about him wondering if someone is cheating on him. Another track worth a listen following the styles of the previous ones.

4. "I Have You to Thank" - Another catchy track which is worth a listen. I think that he is thanking someone for making him stronger in relationships.

5. "Cop Stop" - This is catchy, fun tune with great vocals by Gavin. Another entertaining track!

6. "Young Love" - A mid-tempo track which is a chilled out track about young love. I like this track because it is easily listenable and it has a relaxed vibe to it.

7. "Medicate the Kids" - I don't really know what this song is about, but this is an up-beat track which is just as good as the rest with a catchy chorus.

8. "Relative" - A laid back song which I really like because it is different and it's catchy. This also shows off Gavin's vocals well!

9. "She Holds A Key" - A slow track which is an okay track. Gavin's vocals are, again shining in this song and it has really good lyrics too.

9. "Untamed" - An up-tempo track which is another track worth a listen.

10. "Let It Go" - Another slow track which again, shows off Gavin's vocals well. Not my type of songs but the lyrics and his vocals are really good so this makes up for it!

11. "We Belong Together" - A slow song which many people will like because of the brilliant vocals and lyrics but it isn't a favourite of mine.

Best track: "Next to Me (Wait a Minute Sister)"

Overall Rating:
10/10
"Gavin DeGraw" is a great album by Gavin. I am really glad that I gave this album a try because I can listen to the whole album without thinking of pressing the skip button. Gavin's vocals are also really good on this album and all of the songs have brilliant lyrics as well as beimg really catchy. If you like the first single give it a try!

Alesha - Fired Up

"Fired Up" is the debut album by Alesha Dixon, who used to be in the group Mis-Teeq. The album was given a Japan only release in February this year, and its UK release was eventually cancelled. "Fired Up" is a pretty good effort by Alesha and it's ashame that it was never released properly in the UK!

1. "Hypnotik" - This tune is pretty mediocre. There's better on the album!

2. "Lipstick" - Her debut solo single. An up-tempo track which I love. It is just a fun track with great lyrics that is also really catchy!

3. "Fired Up" - The title track which is another catchy track. I love the chorus. It is a pop song which is quite experimental but in a good way.

4. "Knockdown" - The second single. In my opinion this song shouldn't have been a single. This is an up-beat song which is abit too experimental for me. It isn't a good song, but it isn't bad either - sort of in the middle somewhere.

5. "Superficial" - A catchy track that is worth a listen, with its brilliant chorus and catchy hooks.

6. "Ting-a-Ling" - This tune is definitely the best track on the album! It's a pure pop song but it's different to any other pop song. It has a really catchy chorus as well as fantastic hooks! This should have been a single!

7. "Free" - A pretty mediocre track. The lyrics are passable, but this is a filler, ao I usually skip this one.

8. "Everybody Wants to Change the World" - I also like this track. A catchy track that never gets boring!

9. "Let It Go" - This is another stormer of a track, with it's catchy chorus as well as it's urban-pop vibe, it's hard not to like this song!

10. "Lil' Bit of Love" - This great pop tune is about putting love into a relationship. I love this one!

11. "Turn It Up" - This is a catchy track which is another pure fun track. Definately worth a listen.

12. "Everywhere I Go" - I also like this track. It's really catchy and Alesha's brilliant vocals make me like this song even more!

13. "Voodoo" - I really don't like this song. It's a mid-temp track which adds nothing to the album. It's just bland.

14. "Lipstick (Agent X Remix)" - A good remix of the track, however I like the original better.

15. "Knockdown (K-Gee Heat Remix) - I don't really like the original, but I think that this remix is catchier than the original.

Best Track: "Ting-a-Ling"

Overall Rating:
9/10
"Fired Up" is a good debut album by Alesha. It is a good album for people who just like a good, fun pop album which is good to sing along to. The tunes on "Fired Up" are mainly up-beat, so if you like more catchy, lively songs then this is a really good album for that!

McFly - Radio:ACTIVE (Mail on Sunday version)

Radio:ACTIVE is the fourth studio album by the british band McFly. It was sold free with the Mail on Sunday and the deluxe edition will be out this September.

1. "Do Ya" - A pop song with a rockier vibe aswell. A good start to the album and it is a thoroughly enjoyable track!

2. "Falling in Love" - A laid back, mid-tempo track that has a softer feel than the previous track. I didn't like it at first but the more that I listen to it the more that I like it.

3. "Everybody Knows" - Another up-tempo track which carries on he morerockier theme of the album, but it still has a pop vibe. I love the background music and the chorus.

4. "Smile" - A lively, up-beat track that is about staying happy and it is a mixture of pop and rock. It goes down well, offering us a nice mixture, and with the catchy chorus it will keep you interested!

5. "One for the Radio" - The first single from the album. This tune continues the more rockier theme of the album, with this probably being their most experimental single. I love this song. It's really catchy and the lyrics are really good!

6. "POV" - A slower track than the rest and it is not really a favourite of mine. It is a mediocre track, not great, but not terrible either.

7. "Corrupted" - This track is my favourite. It is one of McFly's more serious songs. I love it. It is an up-beat tune which is again, a mixture of rock and pop and it has really good lyrics and a really catchy chorus. An experimental track which works very well!

8. "The Heart Never Lies" - The first single from their greatest hits album back in 2007. It is a slow, laid back track which I do not particularly like. This is the weakest track on the album, however if you like POV and some of their slower stuff then you probably like this one!

9. "Going through the Motions" - A more poppy track which is a pure fun track!

10. "The Last Song" - A mid-tempo track which I do not think is that good, but the people that liked "The Heart Never Lies" will probably like this one.

Best track: "Corrupted"

Overall Rating:
9/10
"Radio:ACTIVE" is more up-beat than their previous albums and it is definately more rockier. This album is great for listening to in the car or when your friends come over. Give it a try. I will be buying the deluxe edition when it comes out this September. It's a great album!

Jennifer Ellison - album sampler

Actress Jennifer Ellison made a venture into music in 2003 and she released two singles "Baby I Don't Care" and "Bye Bye Boy" which both managed to get into the UK top 20. For unknown reasons her debut album was shelved, however an album sampler exists including remixes, clips and other tracks.

1. "Baby I Don't Care" - Jennifer's debut single. A good cover of the track and a great pop song.
2. "Bye Bye Boy" - The second single which also debuted in the top 20. A good effort by Jennifer but I like the first single better.
3. "9 Times out of 10" - A short clip (just under 60 seconds). A slow song and it is the best clip on the album.
4. "Sooner or Later" - Another really short clip (30 seconds). I can't really review this track as it is way too short.
5. "Silent Footsteps" - Appeared as the b-side to Baby I Don't Care. A mid-tempo song which is pretty average.
6. "Don't Touch It" - A full length song that is an up-tempo track. This is my favourite track and it is kind of like "Bye Bye Boy" part 2.
7. "Hand on My Heart" - Another full length track that is up-tempo. This track is pretty average but it would have been a good effort by Jennifer.
8. "Baby I Don't Care (Groove Brothers Remix) "- A good remix of the song, but not as good as the original.

Best Track: "Don't Touch It"

Overall Rating:
5/10
With this album not being an actual album and mosty consisting of clips I can't really review it properly but it has a few good tracks like the singles and "Don't Touch It".

Gabriella Cilmi - Lessons To Be Learned

"Lessons To Be Learned" is the long awaited debut album by Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi. It is an album worth the wait, delivering many wonderful tracks. Gabriella has done a great job on this album, with her great voice blending in brilliantly.

1. "Save the Lies" - the second UK single is a great up-beat track with a pop/rock feel. It is a highlight and it is destined to be a hit, just like her debut single.

2. "Sweet About Me" - The first single is another highlight, with Gabriella's voice yet again standing out, the brilliant use of lyrics ("Sweet about me, there's nothin' sweet about me, yeah") and a really catchy chorus.

3. "Sanctuary" - This track is another entertaining track with a laid back feel. "Sanctuary" continues the trend of the previous tracks, being satisfying and catchy!

4. "Einstein" - A mid-tempo track, which is still a good track, but it is not the best on the album.

5. "Got No Place To Go" - A catchy track which is another favourite of mine, with a brilliant chorus and Gabriella's unique voice, it surpassed my expectations.

6. "Don't Wanna Go To Bed Now" - The second Australian single is another catchy track with a pop/rock vibe. It is another favourite, which will have you singing along instantly and it will be stuck in your head all day!

7. "Messy" - This is my favourite song on the album, with its up-tempo feel and fantastic lyrics, it is definately a hit!

8. "Awkward Game" - This is a slow track, which has brilliant lyrics and fails to dissappoint.

9. "Safer" - This tune is another slow track, which is not as good as "Awkward Game", but it is passable.

10. "Cigarettes And Lies" - A mid-tempo song which is passable becuase displays Gabriella's wonderful voice, but it is not a favourite of mine.

11. "Terrifying" - This track is back to the previous standards, with it being an up-beat track with a fun vibe and fun lyrics.

12. "Sit In The Blues" - This tune is a laid back song, which is a nice track with a good chorus!

13. "Sorry" - This Australian bonus track is a mid-tempo tune which I love! A great way to end the album.

Best track: "Messy"

Overall Rating:
9/10
"Lessons To Be Learned" is a brilliant debut album, with many fantastic moments. Gabriella Cilmi has a very unique voice, which makes all of her songs sound different in a good way. I am now officially a Gabriella Cilmi fan, and I can't wait to hear more from her.

Girls Aloud - What Will the Neighbours Say?

Girls Aloud's second studio album "What Will the Neighbours Say?" is definately one of my favourite albums and Girls Aloud's best effort to date. The album starts off with the first single, "The Show", which is a different, but wonderful pop song, with its brilliant hooks and amazing lyrics that will get you singing along in no time. "Love Machine", the second track and also the second single, is another up-beat track, with a great catchy vibe throughout the song and its lyrics are also very fun. The third track, "I'll Stand by You, which is a cover of The Pretenders hit, and it was also released as the third single. It is a ballad, which is a grower, as I did not really like this song at first, however now I love it and it is one of my favourites. "Jump", the fourth track, is yet another cover of The Pointer Sister's hit, and it was released as the last single from the re-release of their first album, "Sound of the Underground", however it is also included on this. "Jump", is an up-tempo song, which will get you singing along and it is pop perfection. The fifth track, "Wake Me Up", which is also the fourth single, is another up-beat song which is definately a highlight. It has a brilliant Electro Pop sound and fantastic lyrics. "Deadlines and Diets", the sixth track, is a mid-tempo song, and it is a cover of Miranda Coopers, which is yet another highlight and it is one of the best songs on the album, with its chorus which will get you singing along to and its brilliant use of lyrics ("I'm cool until reality hits me in the face and drops the phone in the tea", which is an example of wonderful use of lyrics). The seventh track, "Big Brother", is an up-tempo track, and it is mediocre, I can listen to this track, but I usually skip this track, because I think that it is a filler. "Hear Me Out", is a mid-tempo track, which is yet another highlight of the album, with all of the Girls voices chipping in to make the song and the song is fantastic both lyrically and musically, it's hard to pick fault with this track. The ninth track, "Graffiti My Soul", is by far the best track on the album, with, again its Electro Pop feel, its catchy chorus and its saucy lyrics, its an absolutely perfect pop song. According to the observer and Brian Higgins, "Graffiti My Soul" was originally intended for Britney Spears to appear on her 2003 album, "In the Zone". "Real Life", the tenth track, is another up-beat track, which is also very experimental and quite different to other pop songs, however this is, again, no doubt, another fantastic pop song which you will have stuck in your head for ages. The eleventh track, "Here We Go" , is yet another up-tempo track, which is another cover of Miranda Coopers, and is another highlight of the album. "Thank Me Daddy", the twelvth track, is another up-beat song and is a rebellious song and is a pure fun pop song. The thirteenth track, "I Say A Prayer For You", is a ballad, and I think that this song is a filler and I think that it is a bland pop song and it isn't memorable at all. "100 Different Ways", the final track, falls on the same fate as the previous track, with it being a weak pop song.

Best track: "Graffiti My Soul"

Overall Rating:

Despite having a few weak tracks on "What Will the Neighbours Say?", this is by far the best Girls Aloud album to date and it will keep you entertained for hours with its creative lyrics and wonderful beats and catchy hooks.
11/10
